Bryce and Zion national parks
As a great finish of our journey in Utah, we visit two awesome national parks : Bryce Canyon and Zion.
Bryce Canyon is famous for some very particular rock formations : hoodoos. Hoodoos are, according to native americans Paiute culture, men who had been turned into stone by Coyote. We jump on horses (one horse and one mule to be specific) and begin exploration.
Let's take some height to see those hoodoos.
After the ghosts (hoodoos in Paiute) we want to see angels. So we drive to Zion NP, home of world famous Angels Landing. But before meeting angels, you have to walk a very steep, and long trail...
After 1h30 of walking you arrive at the interesting part : the last half mile of the trail is just crazy and scary. Can you see the trail ?
For those, like Laurent, who are acrophobe, you will have to try to overcome your fear. Laurent tried, and turned back after 15 meters (50 feet)...
But if you are comfortable with heights you have to go all the way ! The trail is just great : it's more about climbing than walking. There is even a chain along the trail, to help you going further... But the finish definitly Worth it : the view is breath taking, you feel like the first man on the moon (except that they are actually 25 other Neil Armstrong in the same time over there, and it's not the busy summer time)
This is the end of Utah beauties, we've been surprised every day here, and will definitly recommend you to add some of those places to your next trip in the area.
It's time to hit the road again, to discover Nevada.
